What is 2FA, and Why Do I Need It?
To protect your account and meet regulatory standards, Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is mandatory for all Stablehouse accounts. When creating an account with Stablehouse, enabling two-factor authentication (2FA) is a mandatory security measure that adds an extra layer of protection.
What is Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)?
An authenticator app is a security tool, typically installed on a smartphone, that generates a unique 6-8 digit code every 30 seconds. This code is required to securely sign in, withdraw crypto, link bank accounts, whitelist addresses, and can also act as a Master Key for added protection.
Why 2FA is Important
2FA requires a second form of verification beyond your password, making it much harder for unauthorized users to access your account. When you log in for the first time, you’ll be prompted to set up 2FA.
Which Apps Can I Use to Enable 2FA?
Stablehouse exclusively supports mobile devices for 2FA. To enable 2FA on your XBTO account, we recommend using a reputable authenticator app, such as:
- Google Authenticator: A free app that provides secure 2FA codes.
- Authy: An app that offers 2FA codes with added features, such as cloud backup, in case you change devices.
